Why should I learn in an automatic compared to manual?

It would be best to learn in a manual car as this will give you a full driving license as apposed to a restricted one.
Some people may have difficulty with movement of their hands or legs or or they may have difficulty with co-ordination.
Don't think that an automatic car will make driving easier you still have to plan and control your driving. Using a clutch does become easy with practice.

Automatic cars are suitable for any driver of any age or gender.

Are there any benefits to an automatic vehicle?

The benefits to driving an automatic car are no clutch or gears so are great for driving in town where stop start is normal.

Are automatic lessons the same as manual or do I require more or less?

Obviously with no clutch or gears a learner driver will feel less stressed about moving off as they will not stall so junctions and roundabout will not have the same fears but learning to plan a drive and recognise hazards so good decisions are made still take time to learn.

Are the lessons more expensive?

With schools like BSM yes but with Streetwize the cost per lesson is the same with the manual or automatic. Although we do reserve the right to change this if costs such as insurance or maintenance increase
